Don’t know what about you but for me Autumn has already started a week ago. Since I came back from my beloved warm and friendly Nice, Moscow seems to me very depressing.
Too many days in a row I can’t get enough of sleep, my eyes are red like I was working on my computer for 48 hours without a break, I feel anxiety all the time and uncertainty. Well actually it’s a question, why I feel uncertainty, cause this time everything is clear than ever. I got what I wanted, thanks I made loads of efforts. If you still can’t get what I’m talking – I finally was offered a nice job (this challenge was always very hard for me). I am working by the way in a company where I had my internship before my trip to France. And all in all everything is good. But I think the main point why I feel so lost and upset, is the upcoming cold, windy and rainy weather. As I have already written, I can’t live in this kind of weather, I can’t wear loads of warm clothes at one time, I hate take my umbrella with me, moreover it doesn’t work well with our hard rains. Sometimes all these make me feel like I live not in Moscow, but in St Petersburg.
By the way, St Petersburg. It may sound weird (especially after talking about the weather dependance), but I really want to visit this city one more time. 3 days weren’t enough moreover I haven’t even seen the whole city, only a few of main sightseeings. I remember long time ago I used to think about going there with friends, explore the city, find new great places and leave a small or big part of you there – I always do this thing.
Last week while I was walking with my close friend in Moscow twilight, my friend said: “Like we are not in Moscow, but in St Petersburg.” Indeed. These cold blue and grey color palette, overcast sky, slightly gusty wind and constant humidity – all of these remembered me about my unforgettable and very short trip.
Apparently, I need to put St Petersburg in the Must visit cities and countries list. And If I not visit it this year, I am sure I will try my best and fulfill this point the next one. But for now, I will spend my St Peterburg evenings in Moscow, until the weather allows.
