So here it is, my second part of our travel adventures to Geneva. And today I will tell you more about the city from the youth point of view, more about the night life, interesting and concept places as well as about my first experience in hammam and flight with Swiss International Air Lines.
Many people who haven’t been to Geneva have a stereotype that this city is very boring, with no night life, that it is only suitable for elder couples and youth will find nothing interesting to them there. Well, I can argue with that. Yes, actually, I had the same stereotype for a long time, but since I found an Instagram profile of one guy who is living in Geneva, and since he was posting really outstanding pictures of the town and it’s activities, I started thinking that Geneva has more to offer it’s guests of every age. And when in December I had a chance to experience the town by myself, my opinion according Geneva changed completely.
If you know what to search and where to search, the town can show itself from an absolutely different side. Look, here we are walking down the popular shopping street full of festive decorated buildings of famous boutiques, and now, as we turned the corner, we came across the art district full of museums, galleries, cool pubs and concept stores. If you can’t live without the contemporary art, than MAMCO welcomes you to show the latest exhibitions. And after I advise to have a cup of coffee or cider in the hipster district’s Le Kraken bar together with cute rock&roll guys 🙂
Night life in Geneva is also very promising. During our trip we visited many cool and fashionable places like for example, one of our last dinners we had in the amazing rooftop restaurant from where you had a breathtaking view on the night town and river – the location speaks for itself, Rooftop 42. After, if you want to have a fancy drink and dance, than you are welcome at the Timothy Oulton bar located right on the first floor of the building where the Rooftop 42 is. And if you love live music than you shouldn’t miss a chance to visit Zoe Live Club where quietly every evening live music is played and when there is no band, than each guest has a chance to sing his favorite compositions. On my Snapchat (ennfrancosays) I showed a video right from the concert of one local band – the voice of the women simply took my breath away!
As you can see, Geneva has loads of things to do as during the day and during the night to.
Also we had an experience to take part in one very important holiday of the Geneva people – Escalade. This is like a special independence day of Geneva people, when they in December 1602 could defend the city from the attack of the army of Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy, who tried to conquer the city. This day for the citizens is a special one, when they take part in a parade, drink hot wine with soup and after that they hold a bonfire, symbolizing the victory.

Well, actually, I still don’t have an answer how to understand the contemporary art. But I do really have an answer how to fell in love with it and enjoy visiting the museum. You simply need to become a part of the exhibitions! What exactly with did with girls at MAMCO museum in Geneva. The pictures of our own art can be seen here below and in the Instagram of Ninelly, for example here, here and here.
If someone asked me what for me is the most heavenly place in the wold created my the men, I would definitely say a SPA-center Bain Bleu in Geneva. The name of the place is very promising: big outdoor heated swimming pool with pure blue water with an amazing mountains view! Have you heard that?! Imagine our excitement when we saw the location in person. SPA-center is located out of the town giving the most re;axed atmosphere to guests. And for those who love hammam, the center has something to offer to. Just take a look at the pictures.
WAY BACK HOME WITH SWISS INTERNATIONAL
And in conclusion I want to share with you my very first experience in flying in business class with Swiss International. Note: I don’t love to fly. I am afraid a bit, I panic, become nervous and more, please, invent the teleport! If I need to fly somewhere I always fly with our Russian airline Aeroflot, because all my life I fly only with them and I trust the brand. But to be honest, as a person who is afraid of flying, Swiss International is a very good airline and I had amazing and good emotions after flying in economy class (to Geneva) and in business class (back home). Firstly, they have really tasty meals. Actually when I am in plane I never eat, cause I don’t like the smell and the taste of the food. But during this flight every meal was warm and tasty. Secondly, small chocolate bars are still offered on board and this is really cute and pleasant. And thirdly, here is a very friendly and cool staff. During our flight back we met a nice Maitre de Cabine with whom we had and interesting chat and exchanged business cards. If you are reading that – Hi, and thank you for the amazing flight! 🙂 Shortly, we really had an amazing time and all my worries disappeared! And what is more, we landed to the minute, as my Mom said: she was in the car approaching the airport to pick me up, while our very friendly plane with a red cross on the tail was landing.
